Should cell phones be alowed in School
When you think of a cell phone or a tablet in class you probably think of sneaky students cheating. But what if there is a simple way to make it where that won't happen. There are, many teachers use it already. With me saying that we could use cell phones for billions of other things. Like using apps for replacing expensive graphic calculators. Emergency texts to mom. Or easy searching for information that you need right there on the spot. That's why it should be okay to use your cell phone in a class.
When I say that there's a way for a teacher to know what you're doing on your phone or tablet. Is require the students to just simply keep it on the desk. So that way everybody around him or her and the teacher will be able to see what him or her is doing. That stops cheating and goofing around. You might say well, what if they do it anyways. Then you can simply make them share with the class. Embarrassment is the worst punishment.
In high school you have to buy expensive things all the time. For example most students have to buy a graphic calculator which can range from $60-150. That's a lot of money for something that I really don't use out of school. So why can't I just get a three dollar app on my phone or tablet? I mean it does the same thing as the most expensive graphic calculator. Especially when I already have a phone or tablet.
Another thing a phone or tablet really comes in handy for, is keeping in touch with people. Whether it's on My Big Campus or just being able to ask mom to bring you a assignment you forgot on the printer at home. I mean face it the only way that we keep in touch with people in the real world is through technology.
Another good point is that when in class you can search something in less than a minute. Say you're in chemistry and need to look up conversion right away... Otherwise you might put in the wrong amount and cause a bad reaction. Or you're in geometry and the teacher is busy working with another person in the class. So this means you could either sit there or search for a tutorial online and teach it to yourself.
All I'm saying is that with phones life is easier. Phones and tablets are here to help us. Not to sit there and catch dust. Just because a teacher feels that they can't deal with any type of distractions. I mean they're going to have to deal laptops next year anyways...
