A Loving Grandma
When I watch you spewing rays of love like the sun sitting, surrounded by the sight of your loved ones or when I watch you in your broken down trailer home fixed to look nice with the little you have working, waiting for your next check to come like a tree waiting for summer in the deep winter I say when I watch you you the brightness of the sun who will always be there for everyone who needs a hand who will always be a strong woman and a huge part of my life I love you in your sacrifice I love you. Wise Woman
She rests with an empty coffee mug this wise woman wise by years and trials like a tall oak tree In the dark green forest like a rain-drenched oak tree that never loses height again. This poem was written using Langston Hughes poem "Troubled Woman" as a pattern. |
