The Missing: Sent 2
By, Margaret Peterson Haddix
What A Nail Biter!
I have to admit that reading does not excite me at all. However, in the seventh grade, during Battle of The Books, when I read the first book of the series; The Missing. I loved it. I had a mental note to read the next of the series; Sent. Sadly, I didn't get to it until this year mainly because, as I said, I'm not a huge reader. Truthfully, I only read books if I have to. The Missing series is about these kids who find out they are adopted. They start this journey to find their unknown biological parents.Their parents are a mystery. There is no paper trail to find them. There are no records of their parents and they think they won't be able to find them. Because they end up finding out in the first book their from the past.
Sent by Margaret Peterson Haddix is a science fiction adventure. The story involves time travel, true freinds, murder, and a great discription of the past. It is a book that will keep you on the edge of you seat. I found myself asking where, when, and what will happen next. If I were to change anything about Sent, I would wish it to be smaller. Simply because It was not a fast read for me. Saying that, I believe the discription of the plot was clear. I can' imagine the story as is. It really kept my interest.
In my eyes, the eyes of a ninth grader, I think this book was well rounded, well written, and very entertaining. Sent scared me and made me laugh. I feel the vocabulary and style was easy to understand. I would recommend this book to someone aged twelve to sixteen. Although, I think it could be enjoyed by adults too.
